Below is Our Original Buzzman Sensor, plus details on our NOW

Smart Controls & All Digital Wireless Buzzman Generation #6 with new
Added Double Wind Capacity
|
The Original "Buzz Man" wind sensor
was an
adjustable (by the installer) motorized propeller sensor that would roll your awning in
automatically at the first 25-35-mile per hour gust (set
accordingly to the size of your awning, and special
needs, depending on size and exposure, to keep it safe. It
then checked every 12-min. to see if the storm had passed. It
could be set to roll the awning back out automatically or
set to stay in and shut off automatically. This optional
unit was highly recommended and used for Years on Our
Buzzman Awnings wider than
15' x
10' as the larger the unit, the great susceptibility
there was to damage by strong wind.
The Sensor Location was Critical on our Older Buzzman
Propellor.
We now Have; "The Awning That Thinks"
This gives us new software Sensing to work Smoothly with
our Generation #6 Buzzman.
We Now have a Higher Rating for Wind and Special Smart
Controls Too. For Details on the proper use and
recommended settings of our Old Buzzman wind sensor and
our New Smart System Buzzman;

1. This is the competition’s "Heavy" model. It has a slight bow in
the fabric. In contrast, the Buzzman Awning is flat, like a piece of
wood, all the way across. Our arms and frame are more rigid, giving
the product superior strength.
2. The middle of the arm is rubbing on the fabric underneath; our
Buzzman will never do that. Our arms are triple angled to stay 12"
under the center elbow and yet come within 3" from the fabric at
each end. The result: No loss of headroom!
3. The competition’s steel main square frame bar and steel roller
tube will create metal erosion and corrode, especially if located
near the ocean. Our Buzzman frame is all aluminum alloy and will not
have this erosion and corrosion problem.
4. The competition doesn’t recommend using their awning in Heavy
Rain or Wind, at all!
Most competitors models, are limited to
a mild 10-15 MPH light breeze, even with a wind sensor and Max.
21-MPH Gusts.
They must have their awnings rolled in at a much lower setting, than
our heavier Buzzman system. The Buzzman Awning is designed to
be used in higher level winds and heavy rain, and
has constantly been used in
rough weather by most our customers since 1996. When the wind
reaches 50 m.p.h. our retractable spring action will
automatically release the tension for safety, however, damage can
still result at this level, and possibly at lower levels, depending
on the size and exposure, as well as the speed of a storm, such as a
tornado (which are buried inside thunder head storms), and can go
from zero wind and no apparent storm or danger, to an Instant.....100 MPH
Wind, in less
than a few seconds, right over your awning ..............which is
why we advise the use of a Buzzman wind sensor, to provide more
insurance and extra safety, to have many years of enjoyment in the
use of your Buzzman Awning.
As with anything in this world, nothing can be 100% care-free.
Things can go wrong, right at the wrong moment, such as a
power-outage, electrical failure, or an instant storm that drops
down out of no-where, etc. Nothing takes the place of using
good common sense, in the use of any product, and the Buzzman Awning
is no different. The wind sensor would need at least one gust,
beyond the set wind limit (25-MPH to 45-MPH), to trigger an automatic roll-up, before a
storm barrels in, to successfully save your awning.
For Greater Success.....It can be used accordingly: The rule of
thumb is; If the weather is too awful for you to be out in the
elements, then it is too awful for your Buzzman Awning to be out
(rolled out and in use). Most customers roll up their
Buzzman Awning, every night or have the New Smart Sensor to do it
automatically, and use it as needed in the daytimes or
evenings, Rain or Shine.....when they are there to monitor it.
Our Buzzman wind sensor has been created as added peace of mind, and
extra insurance, to increase the use and extended time that it is
opened and in use, however, it cannot be relied on 100%, as nothing
in this world is 100% fool proof. Many customers do use the
our Buzzman wind sensor to monitor the first gust of wind, to
automatically and safely roll it in, and have it set to roll back
out when the gusts have subsided. This does work well for most
of these customers, for years and years, as long as they have their
installer set the wind sensor at a lower than normal level, based on
the size and exposure of their particular awning, or if they have
the NEW Double Wind Capacity Buzzman System.
The standard Buzzman wind sensor setting for our older "Propeller
system" was to;..... have it set,
based on its size and installation exposure, to roll in at a safe
level of wind, that is reaching close to its maximum limits, and
stay rolled in, and shut off, for the rest of the day. This
type of use, would be the closest thing to gaining an almost 100%
fool proof system, that could be marginally monitored while in use,
and is most recommended by us. The Only Problem was finding a
mounting location that would be effective from any angle and from
any wind location source. Often, the propeller would need to
be placed up above the roof level to work effectively, or suffer the
consequences.
Our New Double Wind Capacity Buzzman System, allows a totally
automated Smart Thinking Awning to Monitor it, Itself, from any
angle and with any size awning, and any extended setting!
Just remember, that there is always that one in a Million Chance,
that a Power outage or a tornado may hit your house, right when the
awning was beginning to roll in, under the control of the Smart
System, and either had no, or little warning to get it in fast
enough (Tornado), or had run out of electric power, before your
back-up generator kicked in to power up your house.
